Eligibility
[Verification Needed] The Korean Language Education Center 'Registration Guide' page does not specify eligibility requirements such as academic background or language proficiency, and only presents the required submission documents — university confirmation required.
Confirmed Visa Requirement: Students who must obtain a D-4-1 visa must apply for at least 2 semesters in accordance with immigration office guidelines (students of other nationalities must enroll for at least 4 semesters — see notice). Students who do not need to obtain a (D-4) visa may apply up to 2 weeks before the semester begins.
Related Information: Students who complete Level 3 or higher of the regular Korean course at this institution's Korean Language Education Center satisfy the language requirement for the undergraduate Pure Foreign Student Special Admission, and those who complete Level 4 or higher (must meet completion criteria) are eligible for a 40% tuition reduction under the Admission Scholarship (B). In addition, for those changing from a D-4 visa to a D-2 visa at this institution's Korean Language Education Center, the bank balance certificate requirement for undergraduate admission is reduced from 20,000,000원 to 10,000,000원.
Screening
[Application and Admission Procedure] Prepare application documents and apply online → Notification of admission result and receipt of invoice (takes 1-2 weeks after submission) → Pay tuition and send payment receipt → Receive Standard Admission Letter (by email) → Obtain visa (apply for D-4-1 at the consulate in home country) → Move into dormitory and take level test → Entrance ceremony and semester start.
Application documents should first be submitted as scanned copies online or by email, and only applicants who receive an invoice must submit the original documents by mail (Room 510, Computer Building, Soongsil University, 369 Sangdo-ro, Dongjak-gu, Seoul 06978). The level test is conducted online and has no pass/fail; it is intended to place students into the level matching their current Korean proficiency. Document evaluation scores are not disclosed at all, and unsuccessful applicants are not separately notified of the results.

Before you apply
·Students who must obtain a D-4-1 visa must apply for at least 2 semesters in accordance with immigration office guidelines (students of other nationalities must enroll for at least 4 semesters).
·Even if admission is granted, if the visa application is rejected during the visa screening at the Korean diplomatic mission in the home country, the admission is automatically canceled.
·If the student fails to enter the country within 2 weeks after the semester begins, both admission and the visa are automatically canceled.
·On-campus dormitory spaces are limited, so admission to the dormitory may be difficult; it is recommended to also look into off-campus housing options (Education Center FAQ).
·Submitted documents will not be returned.
·Absences must not exceed 20% of total class hours, and being late or leaving early 3 or more times, or entering class 30 minutes after it starts, is counted as 1 hour of absence.
·The conditions for advancement to the next level are meeting both a grade average of 70 points or higher and an attendance rate of 80% or higher (overall grade = midterm exam 35% + final exam 45% + attendance 10% + class participation 5% + homework 5%).
·All language program students must enroll in the group insurance arranged by the university (approximately 60,000원 for 6 months).
·If visa extension is not approved because the student fails to meet the immigration office's visa extension criteria, the student must personally change to another visa that allows continued study.
