I keep hearing about a bank balance certificate for the student visa. How much does it have to show, and whose account can it be?
The required amount is set by the visa authority, not by us, and it differs by programme type and by the embassy or consulate where you apply. Some universities also state a minimum in their own admission notice. Where a programme in OmniApply states a required amount, you will see it in the eligibility section of that admission unit. Treat the embassy notice as the final word. One caution: be careful with anyone offering to "lend" you a balance for the certificate. That is a common fraud pattern and it can end your application permanently.
